The ways American audiences engage with foreign language have the potential to shape how diverse languages are preserved.
The process of adapting content for the language, culture, and preferences of an individual or audience, localization gives creators and providers the chance to promote multilingualism by making varieties of languages accessible.
Through exploring different methods across the media formats of music, tv/movies, and books, I will examine the unique ways localization plays a role in delivering non-English language media to American audiences and ultimately, whether these promote multilingualism in American audiences.
